Track Name: Blind Spots
The worst is mostly behind you
Ugly daughter ugly daughter
You cut your hair short and messy
Into the water into the water
You swam like a fish in that movie about God
And the things that he does with our lives
But we missed the ending and you got your first kiss
Before things like this made you cry

Most of our lives are just blind spots blind spots
You said as you were falling asleep
My father's father was just as crazy as I was
And I've got all the pills that you need

Sad on Catholic holidays
Don't open your mouth don't open your mouth
There's not much to do around here anyways
Except get in the car and drive till you drown
When the rain blows the trees down I feel too tall
That's why I'm so scared of bugs
Cause from the tops of buildings well people look just like ants
That makes me most scared of all

Most of our lives are just blind spots blind spots
You said as you were falling asleep
My father's father was just as crazy as I was
And I've got all the pills that you need
Track Name: Backyard
While the whole car ride took me 23 hours
I arrived home
And baby we breathed together
You said we'll forget all of this by morning
Regular scenery it stunned me
Beautiful industry in a snapshot
And moths beat down our faces
We'll fly even if we have to fake it

We're trying to walk downtown
So having a home won't seem so hard
Convenient raincoat kept us warm under car exhaust
And all the time we'd lost
And occasionally we felt like saviors
Walking the streets we came here for
Prophesizing on a park bench
Call us crazy but we know where your days went

They've burned down beautifully
And out of sight
Like it was real life
They've burned down beautifully
And out of sight
Like it was real life

Well I surprised you on your birthday
By showing up with better things to say
It's too hot so I complain that
Summer's better later anyways
I would like to stay in winter
Afterthoughts were less regretted there
Like laying on the bed and wishing
We were high and always listening

We've burned down beautifully
And out of sight
Like it was real life
We've burned down beautifully
And out of sight
Like it was real life
Track Name: Car Running
Hold it out you know
We walked out of our houses and immediately
Fell down in the pouring rain
Said I think what you mean is we've already died

We stand in the dark
And leave the car running
Leave the car running
Your lips and my heart
Keep your past from me
Keep your past from me
Tell me you're someone else
In the back of this car running
The back of this car running
We shout into our freezing hands
Keep our legs moving
Keep our legs moving

We left the house empty
Except for our clothes which we threw across the floor
We stood naked on the front porch
That night was the night you said goodbye to us for good
And everything we felt
Felt the way we thought it should

When I can use the right line
Drunk in the morning when you come home
Left your room empty except for your bed
I think we all slept with you when it got dark
Inside our own heads

We were talking in the rain and we were talking too loud
Looked up at the orange city lights
They said they said
Your whole world started in the back of this car
With your pants around your ankles
And his hand on your heart

Ohhh
Ohhh

We stand in the dark
And leave the car running
Leave the car running
Your lips and my heart
Keep your past from me
Keep your past from me
Tell me you're someone else
In the back of this car running
The back of this car running
We shout into our freezing hands
Keep our legs moving
Keep our legs moving
Track Name: 46th Street
Spider legs and spider teeth
I've never had a good grief
So Charlie Brown Charlie Brown
Show me how you paint this town
I've never been to a disco
And all the girls here look like hippos
Glamour's dead glamour's dead
We all just sit and drink instead

Spiders scare the shit out of me
Spiders man they're just too much
Nothing should be able to change that fast
Unless it's fourteen and falling in love

Spiders scare the shit out of me
Spiders man they're just too much
Nothing should be able to change that fast
Unless it's fourteen and falling in love

Spider legs and spider teeth
I've never had a good grief
So Charlie Brown Charlie Brown
Show me how you paint this town
I've never been to a disco
And all the girls here look like hippos
Glamour's dead glamour's dead
We all just sit and drink instead
Track Name: Astronauts
I only want to die in the spring time
When everything has finally been fixed
You can plant a tree where my heart used to be
And in fall we can celebrate what's left

I never want to die in this tiny town
Where when it rains nothing moves at all
Every horizon looks best upside down
And everything feels very small

I never want to die in anybody's arms
I'm much much too proud to say goodbye
Just throw me on a train and throw the train into the ocean
The blue in the water
Just reflects the sky

I only want to die with my eyes wide
So I know I haven't missed a single thing
Directly I'll recall that the same summer my heart burst
Was the same summer I finally learned to sing

So sing
So sing
So sing for the astronauts
Who are pushing us out of our skin
Sing for the accidental mothers
Who are young and scared of everything
Sing for your future
Let's go everywhere
And sing for your ugly summer lover
He's doing his best I swear

You are prettier without him (x8)
Track Name: Dirty City
I think the sky looks pretty
With all this fog in a dirty city
And I know how far we have to fall
I think the girls look pretty
With bad skin in a dirty city
And I know what's coming to us all
It ain't pretty

I think the sky looks pretty
With all this fog in a dirty city
And I know how far we have to fall
I think the girls look pretty
With bad skin in a dirty city
And I know what's coming to us all
But don't worry

God said let the light
Make you beautiful all right
And god damnit it was so
God said let the light
Make you beautiful all right
And god damnit it was so

I think the sky looks pretty
With all this fog in a dirty city
And I know how far we have to fall
I think the girls look pretty
With bad skin in a dirty city
And I know what's coming to us all
But don't worry

God said let the light
Make you beautiful all right
And god damnit it was so
God said let the light
Make you beautiful all right
And god damnit it was so

Stars are just exploding ghosts
And I like books about dogs the most
Cause dogs come from the fire too
And all my god damn dreams are coming true
I find myself falling in the strangest places
And whole wide world speaks a different language
The stars all start to fall apart
To the tenor of your breaking heart
Track Name: In the Morning
The parts of our bodies we had shown
Glowed lighlty in the tree we grew out of
We separated each piece of you
So that when you left
We still had your bones
Sunset and sunrise
We raise your bones into the sky
Our ragged arms and skinny legs
Clung to our legs

In the morning we never wear any shoes
Just climb out of bed and try hard not to move
The sunlight through the window shade
Pressed up against your back and I didn't care what you said
Anymore

In the morning we never wear any shoes
Just climb out of bed and try hard not to move
The sunlight through the window shade
Pressed up against your back and I didn't care what you said
Anymore

This time I get nervous
When the tide comes in
And we can breath again
tied to the rocks with your
Hair all out
You look at the clouds
And I look down
Track Name: Solstice
The ground is sticking to my feet
I woke up next to my bed this morning
I turned to lay up on my side
I the rain beat down on the shore and
I stretch my hand across the floor
Put all the chairs up on the roof
Promised on a roller coaster
That feeling when your stomach leaves you

Hold onto the side of the boat
You're not too slow
I know you're keeping your head up
Above the snow
I forgot to wear gloves
That's my fault I'm sorry
You said I hope you don't freeze
I told you not to worry

We've been up here a long long time
Our feet have grown into the roof
The sun has already gone down
Remember what you said we'd do then
Wake up on the lawn by your house
Wake up and expect to come in
But you tell me no you tell me
We'll just leave again

We're keeping our shoes
Up off the sand
We're keeping ourselves
Up off the ground
We built a boat so
We can move around
We're so tall because
We hate looking down
